(More customer reviews)When I was shopping for PS2 DVD remotes, the one made by Sony was about $25. I looked around and saw this one for about $15. So, I picked this one up and brought it home with me, and I thought I got a pretty good deal on it.
The setup and all was pretty simple. Put in the 2 AA batteries that came with the remote, plug in the reciever to the PS2 controller port, and pop in the DVD. There was no need for any setup or anything to use the remote, so I didn't need to take up any space on my memory card. Also, the reciever had an open controller port, so it didn't leave only one port open. This remote is also a universal remote, which means you can program it to work as a remote for your TV and VCR.
When I started to use the remote, it worked just like a regualr PS2 controller, but this also meant that there was still a slow rewind and fast-forward if you have an older version of the PS2. Also, I became a bit frustrated that you had to point the remote directly at the reciever in order for it to work.
Overall, this product isn't all that bad, but it's not the one I'd go with, since now you can buy Sony's DVD Remote for the same price here on Amazon.com, at about $15, or you can go to your local retailer that sells gaming equipment and get it for $20. If you really don't care, then you can get this.
